A very quick bit about me. I was born in Watford, Herts, where my earliest memories are of seeing ghosts with my mum and reading a lot. I can't remember much about the first story I ever wrote, but I'd bet it was about vampires or ponies, or being electrocuted in the bath. A move to Somerset in the 1960's made it easier for me to indulge my love of animals, as a family we had quite a menagerie, from ducks to ponies. As I grew up I liked school although I wasn't (ahem) the most well behaved of students. I enjoy the work of many authors, but if pushed I would have to say that Stephen King and CS Lewis have to come out on top.
The inspiration for the Wolven trilogy was from watching too many werewolf movies, and my dog Dave who could have been Woody (had he been supernaturally gifted and a shape shifter). Dave is an enormous, white German Shepherd, so big he can be seen on Google Earth.
Thanks to the brilliant Barry Cunningham OBE (the publisher who discovered JK Rowling) Wolven has been published in fourteen countries, including the USA, Russia and China.
Wolven has been shortlisted for the following awards:
